HOME

I feel so fortunate to live in Pembrokeshire.
Especially when the sun shines!

It's been a glorious day today
so I took some photos of the farm buildings
and the views over the hills

I showed a couple of photos of the cattle yards
in a previous blog
but I thought I would show them again

These were my neighbour's cattle that broke into
my garden a few weeks ago.

These yards are where I worked with my husband..
sorting our cattle, TB testing etc.
after we left our dairy farm and semi-retired to this
other farm of ours.

My son now rents the land and today
he turned some of his cattle
out into the field behind the house

I hope you have enjoyed seeing a little
of my life.

I haven't written much today
as I have spent much of the last 2 days in the
hospital, with my cousin,
at her dying father's bedside.

I wrote about him in my 'Good Friday' blog.

He left this life this morning
but he knew where he was going and
in Whom he believed!

  2. It is such an honour to be with a loved when as they pass through this life and peacefully slip into the next. Many think it is an unpleasant thing but having been with several close people over the last few years I have decided that I was blessed and honoured to be with them, just as you were.A lovely post and I love looking at your countryside.

  4. I love the name Pembrokeshire and I enjoyed seeing and hearing about your land, animals and work.

It truly is an honor to be asked to be with a friend in the dying of her loved one. It says so much about you "Miss Pembrokeshire Lass.".

  18. You are surrounded by such beauty!
Thank you for visiting me! I love my old oak Queen Anne chairs. I have owned them for about 37 years. They were old when I bought them.
My heart goes out to you and your family!

  19. I just came across your blog and I am delighted to meet you. One of the best things about blogging is getting to meet other women from around the world. I find more and more that our landscapes may be different, but our views on family and life are very much the same. I know very little about Wales and I am looking very forward to learning as I follow your journey. I am also retired. I worked as an activity director in an assisted living facility . . . Now that I am retired I find myself going back and volunteering. The people there have become my extended family. I am your newest follower, Connie :) Please accept my warm invitation to visit and to follow my blog, also. Have a wonderful day.
