Ta -Dah!!

Well...I've been practising all weekend
and have finally produced.........
my first Granny Square

This was another of the challenges I promised my self to do this year.

I'm not sure if it's a square or a circle but it's a start.
I also realise that it's not perfect.....
at least I tried!!

Stocki challenged me, earlier this year,
 to start crocheting......
when I said that I would so like to be involved in the

So I picked up the hook
and told Annie at Knitsofacto......
that I had started.

I looked at different blogs and was told to look at Attic 24 for help.

I did and was immediately captured....
by the jewel like colours

So here I am.......my first Granny Square
and I hope to start a Granny Stripe Blanket

Perhaps that needs to be one of my next projects for this year.........

Please have a look at these blogs if you don't already visit them....they are just so encouraging!

  8. Looks great. Glad you mastered it. I made a hugh granny square afghan in the 70"s and got rid of it at some point in the last 15 years. I regret giving it away after all that work. Don't make my mistake.

  9. Congratulations on your first granny square! My grandmother crocheted Granny Square quilts for each of her grandchildren. Quite the accomplishment.

I am sending you Yarn Purls. I think you will enjoy her creativity. She amazes me . . .

  14. Yea for you! Do you know it took me years to figure out the granny square. Some of those written patterns make it so much difficult than it needs to be. I actually finally figured it out from a pattern at Tangled Happy. So easy! The granny stripe pattern from Attic 24 is a breeze and you will love it! Have fun! Best wishes, Tammy

  17. Excellent! I still remember how pleased I was when I finally managed to make my first granny square (and how frustrating it was when I couldn't decipher some of the patterns either). I used Lucy's tutorial for my first one too.
    *** Warning *** - it's addictive!
