Several years ago Hubby and I took a tour of Spain.
It was wonderful!
We went to Granada and saw
the magical Alhambra.
We toured on to Seville and Escorial (where all the Kings of Spain are buried)
We went to Toledo
and also.......
Cordoba
- I found this city mindblowing
and almost impossible to describe......
the awe-inspiring feeling standing in what had been a Mosque with pillars etc plundered from..
all over the Mediterranean.
There was a complete Christian Cathedral inside
which only took up
an iota of the space....incredible!!
So many more places...
We had excellent guides with us through out.
Each experts in that particular region
As we went I collected
a few of these plates as mementos!
Some large.......some small
The ones on the wall.......
are all hand painted
with gold paint...
some of them are signed by the artist
These two little ones are cheap ones
that I use as coasters.
I had quite a few
unfortunately all but these are broken.
I think I had better put them to better use
So which do you like best?
They are all lovely.........
but this is mine!
I'm visiting with Treasure Hunt Thursday
Those plates are stunning. As I was viewing I thought the we're embroideries.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry others were broken. They are lovely.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful tour and beutiful treasures . . . I like the first one best, which is also shown last and I think it is also your favorite.
ReplyDeleteFrustrating sometimes when my iPad spell correct is sleepy.

ReplyDeleteYour trip sounds exciting when you went.
What beautiful plates, so full of happy memories :o) If I had to choose one I think it would be photo 4.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to welcome you as a follower Joan, thank you for joining in!
Very best wishes

I like them all! I've been to Spain four times and would love to be back again. The last trip was two winters ago to Barcelona and to Granada. I loved Barcelona and would like to spend more time there. I also love the Atlantic coast and would like to visit San Sebastian.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as if you really enjoyed Spain. My mum and dad used to have a motorhome and they spent about 3 months of the year (in our winter) over there. They loved it too. They don't have their motorhome anymore which is a shame.
ReplyDeleteYour plates are all lovely - real works of art!!!
The one right above...some large, some small is my favorite. They really are intricate and beautiful. It would be wonderful to travel to Spain. These would make a lovely mosaic, too! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThey are all gorgeous! I really love the one that has all the greens in it. What a wonderful remembrance of your time there-but how sad that some got broken- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI could never choose which one I like best. They look lovely all grouped together.
ReplyDeleteI love your collection of plates. What a wonderful thing to collect through Spain. We were there about 5-6 years ago. Have a friend in Spain who took us around. We went to Toledo and Segovia. Absolutely beautiful! Have a great week. Tammy
ReplyDeletegosh you live in such a beautiful area! and i love all your momentos of spain! enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI honestly think I like them best all together on the wall like that, I couldn't pick just one :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Joan. I like how you grouped them. I think the one you chose as your favorite has wonderful colors.

Jann
