This morning I just felt like
some bright, dramatic colours
So I took out my bright yellow cloth
(it is bright yellow....really!!)
added my lovely Poole Pottery dish......
and 'borrowed' a couple of the sunflowers I planned to give my daughter later.
Underneath is just as bright and cheerful!
I bought this for myself at the beginning of the New Millenium...when Poole Pottery were bringing out brightly coloured pottery that really made a statement...rather than the quieter combined shades that they used to use!
They really 'made a statement!'
I suppose that's what I want to do this morning
I mean.......
Make a statement
"Hello world....I'm here.....and I matter!!"
Well said! No harm in making a statement every now and then! Love the pottery dish and the sunflowers. Could do with a little bit of sunshine down here in Devon at the moment. It's gone all misty and drizzly again :(
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love sunflowers! Have some that seem to have been on my mantelpiece for weeks ... am going to dry them and give the seeds to my chickens. Love the blue on the underside of the dish ... as soon as I saw it, it reminded me of the rooftops in Santorini! Have a lovely Sunday

What a beautiful piece of pottery, definitely one to bring a smile to your face in the morning. I love sunflowers. When my daughters were small, sunflowers were the plant they loved growing each year, as once the seed was planted they grew so very quickly. Best Wishes Daphne
ReplyDeleteI love the blue on the underside of the dish. What a pure, gorgeous color. Sunflowers are also so cheerful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pottery!
ReplyDeleteYou do matter Joan. I hope that you are doing well!
What a lovely piece.

Very colorful pottery!
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers are beautiful! Did you grow them? We just don't seem to have much luck with sunflowers, for some odd reason. One of our daughters has them taller than 6 feet, with wonderful blooms, but ours just seem to appear rather apologetic.
Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteCalling by from Share your Cup Thursday, I remember with fondness visits to Poole Pottery on family holidays, have always liked their china.
ReplyDeleteOh my, someday I hope to have a piece of Poole pottery. Yours is gorgeous, just love it. Visiting from Share your Cuup & a new follower. Thanks for sharing, Pam
ReplyDeleteWell, if you see two comment from me it's because I typed one and then the phone rang and I think I lost it. Just wanted to say that Yes, you certainly do matter! Love, love that pop of color. I am not to savvy when it comes to pottery. Have not heard of Poole. I know that I am probably the only dummy. However, I do know gorgeous, and that it is! Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
